Login Problems

For all login issues please ensure the following

  1. That only one copy of GSC is running on your computer.
  2. That you have not logged into GSC from other locations.
  3. Verify your network drivers are up-to-date.

For all Firewall/Router/AntiVirus/Security software ...

Make sure GSC traffic is set to "allow all". Some firewall/router/antivirus software also have a setting to filter particular types of internet traffic (Zone Alarm particularly) you want to configuration you firewall/router/antivirus to not filter any traffic types. If you are unfamiliar with this process please see the documentation for your software.

If your firewall software allows for it, allowing traffic from *.getgsc.com will allow traffic for both login and update servers.

If that fails, are you able to login to GSC with your firewall/router/virus scanner software disabled? If so then there is a problem with you firewall/router/virus scanner configuration.

There is a tool inside of GSC for testing connections. its called "Connection Test" and can be found off the "Help" menu. Please run this tool before reporting any issues with logging in.

It will be easier for us to assist you in any login related issues when you tell us the following.

  1. the version of GSC you are using see AboutDialog
  2. the exact text and step in the login process for which you are having trouble.
  3. the exact text of the connection test result.
  4. a listing of all firewall/router/antivirus software being used.
  5. review SubmittingBugs to properly submit the information we will need to know to help you.
