Submitting Games to GSC
As GSC grows, we will sure get a massive influx of requests to add more games/mods. We do our best to add games/mods as fast as possible. If you would like to assist in getting games/mods added to GSC as fast as possible here are some helpful things you can do:
Submitting this information along with your game request is not required to get your game added. However it assists us greatly in adding games as fast as possible.'
- 1. Please only ask for games that are publicly available. If you are involved with a closed beta of a game we may not be able to get a copy and giving us a copy could be a violation of your NDA.
- 2. State the full name of the game you are requesting.
- 3. Give as much as the information as possible about the game. such as...
- a. How can we get this game? buy it? downloading it?
- b. What is the URL for the game or mod?
- c. What is the surname associated with the game?
- d. If this is a mod are there command line parameters passed to the game being modded? if so what are they?
- e. Does the game register it's location in the windows registry? if so what key is used to describe the games location. If not what is the default install location of the game.
- f. The EXE file used to launch the game or mod.
- g. If the game is a mod, what file(s) are not included in the base game that we can use to detect that the mod is installed.
- h. what command line arguments do we send the game to have it connect to one of your favorite servers?
- h. known TCP/UDP ports used by the game
- i. known master servers associated with the game.
For games that we can not acquire due to no vendor selling copies or because the game requires an account on a file hosting service, please feel free to post a download or torrent on www.fileswap.com and we will be glad to support it. You can use this method for sharing any freely available game mod or game.
